Back to the Last Crusade

A painting done for an art trade with ~angelgaby.

This was, at once quite difficult and a lot of fun for me to tackle as it deviated quite well from my usual subject matter. Usually I have a rough idea or model of a character or subject matter to work from with most of the details (such as exact facial features) left up to my own imagination. This project, however, i found that for it to effectively work, i had to actually capture Ford, Conner, Fox, and Loyd in their roles in such a way that anyone looking at it would instantly be able to recognize them. That made things a hair more complicated for me, but, in the end I'm rather proud of the results.

The general idea for the piece came from ~angelgaby as for our art trade he requested either something dealing with Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade or Back to the future. Well, being someone who has a hard time making up their minds on anything, i just decided to do both ideas in one piece and Back to the Last crusade was born.
