Psy-Beetle

A piece done of ~TheIcyOne's original character Psy-Beetle.

This one is the first of my digital pieces that I had to toss over in the digital painting category as opposed to the drawing. I had gotten a wee bit caught up in making it, decided to use Painter a lot more in it, and before I knew it, it was more of a painting (digitally I reckon) then a drawing. Well, what ever it is, it was a blast to make.

I spent a touch longer on it then I think I should have just playing with the figure trying to figure out what I was going to do with him. After several failed sketches, the thought struck me that he looked a touch like a bizarre cross between The Shadow and Bat-Man... if one had eaten a couple of shrooms. Either way, I decided to play up that angle and the most classic of dark Knight posses came to me to put him in. Of course, as bat-man always has those bats in the background when ever he's just standing around looking dark, ol' psy needed the beetles in the background (I thought about putting the band back there, but then I sobered up).
